Medium-Term Plan and Performance Evaluation

Funai Electric conducts Environmental Preservation Activities in line with its three-year medium-term plans. In light of the fiscal 2012 results, we reviewed the medium-term plan covering the three-year period through fiscal 2014.

1) As a result of having hanged all fluorescent lamps in our plant and office to LED lamps, we achieved approximately 10% reduction of electricity consumption compared to last year. (3,340,000 kwh)

 

2) We will revise the conversion ratio from thermal recyling of waste to other means of recycling and reuse to more 40% by fiscal 2014.

 

3) The previous target was to increase the number of social contribution activities. However, since we consider that employee paticipation is more important than the number of activities. We will change the target to an annual total of 60 or more participants in environment-related volunteer activities by fiscal 2014.

 

4) Continuous reduction of the global warming impact of products:

Reduce the LCA Warming Index for representative models by 5% or more compared to the previous year’s model.

 

5) Continuous reduction of the global resource depletion impact of products:

Reduce the LCA Resource Reduction Index for representative models by 5% or more compared to the previous year’s model.

 

Note: We define calculation rules for the Warming Index and Resource Reduction Index applied to representative models of selected products in compliance with ISO 14040 and 14044 standards based on a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) report prepared by collecting, analyzing, and evaluating data.
